For those of you heading to Rotterdam, our local expert Jo has hunted out three of the city’s finest eateries for every budget.

Hotel Bazar

Witte de 16, 3012 BP Rotterdam

Within walking distance of the central station, Hotel Bazar offers low cost, high taste food surrounded by a relaxing, warm atmosphere. One of the more unusual restaurants to be found on the bustling streets of Rotterdam, Moroccan food fills the menu with a taste sensation for the meat eaters and the vegetarian travellers alike. Open until late every day, if you’re busy soaking up the Dutch culture all day, Hotel Bazar is a vibrant spot to pick up a twist on the Arab classics.

Café Brasserie Dudok

Meent 88  3011 JP Rotterdam

+31 (0)10 433 3102 / www.dudok.nl

The Café Brasserie Dudok offers a wide range of dishes with a Dutch twist. Although primarily a lunch spot for locals and travellers, snacks are available after the kitchen is closed for any late drifters. Behind the café is a dedicated patisserie baking tempting naughty bits such as muffins, cheesecake and brownie tarts. One look at the baked goods and you’ll be watering, with a takeaway option the Dudok patisserie could become a regular visit. The Dudok has 3 companion cafes across the Netherlands with locations in Tilburg, Arnhem and Amsterdam so if you’re doing a bit of travelling around the Netherlands, be sure to stop at them all and enjoy the same good food whilst soaking up a different atmosphere.
