For those looking for something a little different to the usual night life just an hour away on public transport is the Scheveningen International Fireworks Festival taking place between the 15 – 23 of August, this is an event that is fun for everyone. Teams from around the world compete in creating the best fireworks show with each time taking roughly 11 – 13 minutes to complete each set. But if fireworks aren’t what you want then you may be interested in Grachtenfestival, a 10 day classical musical festival in Amsterdam from the 15 –  24 August featuring acts from all over the world. Over the 10 days there will be 150 concerts in different locations varying from private gardens, roof terraces to traditional canal houses. However if you can’t make your trip until the very end of August don’t worry you’ll be arriving just in time for Uitmarkt taking place over 29 -31 in Amsterdam.
