The Wadden Islands on the Dutch coast are little known to visitors from the UK. Away from the narrow houses and canal-lined streets of Amsterdam and the modish buzz of Rotterdam, the long, sandy shores of the Wadden Islands are hugely popular with Dutch tourists and one of the country’s best kept secrets. Our favourite spot is the long stretch of beach by the Texel lighthouse.
