Easter is fast approaching (18 – 21 April), and Holland is a wonderful place to enjoy it. With spring in full swing and the flower-bulb fields in bloom, there are some wonderful traditions to enjoy. Here are some top tips for ways to enjoy this holiday in style!

  1. Visit the tulip fields of Keukenhof, which will be in full bloom.
  2. Keep your eyes open for traditional Easter treats like paasstol (bread with dried fruit and almond paste), coloured eggs and spring lamb.
  3. Visit Amsterdam’s weekly outdoor markets, which are also open during the Easter weekend, where you can pick up supplies for a picnic in Vondelpark. The Albert Cuypmarkt, Dappermarkt and Ten Katemarkt are open on Friday and Saturday, while the organic markets at the Noordermarktand Nieuwmarkt are open on Saturday. Pure Markt will also host a special Easter edition on Sunday 20 April at Beatrixpark.
  4. Spend Easter Monday in a furniture shop – ‘Meubelboulevard’  – as is traditional in Holland. The Alexandrium furniture shopping mall in Rotterdam will attract around 15,000 visitors on an Easter Monday.
