If we referred to ‘diving’ into 2013, most of us would be metaphorically referring to the euphoric abandon with which we’d see in the New Year. However, our friends in The Hague annually give this phrase literal meaning. For the past forty years, at midday every New Year’s Day, hundreds of people dive into the cold water at Scheveningen Beach to celebrate the New Year.
Whilst we at Stena Line will elect to enjoy New Year’s Day above water, with a cup of tea and a biscuit, we wish luck to all the brave participants of this year’s Scheveningen Beach Dive, and wish you all Gelukkig NieuwJaar!
